CONTINUING EDUCATION & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
CREATE provides professional development to experienced educators that support new teachers at their schools involved in the CREATE program.
How Our Team Works
- Our team collaborates with local, regional and national partners. Together they organize professional development courses, institutes, retreats and other learning experiences. This supports educators, students and communities in line with the CREATE Project mission and vision.
- These teachers and school leaders work in the same schools where new teacher residents are placed.
- Our teacher residents work with teacher educators and university and district leaders to support the collaborative reimagining of publicly-funded education for deep joy, flourishing and liberation for all. But particularly for historically marginalized youth and the teachers who serve them.
- We offer custom professional learning experiences as well.
Professional Development Opportunities
Culturally Relevant Pedagogy Institute (CRP): This is a multi-day institute that supports educators in exploring relationships between shared learning and Culturally Relevant Pedagogy (CRP). This connects current CRP conversations, practices and research to educator-derived, context-specific curriculum or dilemmas (problems of practice). Participants create a framework for using their shared learning experiences in their schools/work.
